About Lesson

Functional Testing (if applicable)

  • Description: Functional testing involves testing a sample of incoming components to verify that they meet electrical and performance specifications. It ensures that the materials are fully operational and capable of performing their intended function in the final product.

  • Process Detail:

    • Sample Selection: Select a representative sample from the incoming batch of components to perform functional testing. The sample size is typically determined based on a statistical sampling plan, such as AQL (Acceptable Quality Level).

    • Test Setup: Depending on the component type, set up the appropriate testing apparatus. For example, an IC might be tested using an automated tester, while resistors might simply be checked for correct resistance values using a multimeter. Some components may require more complex testing environments.

    • Specification Comparison: Compare the test results against the manufacturer’s specified performance values. This includes checking parameters like resistance, capacitance, current handling, and voltage rating, depending on the type of component.

    • Document Results: Record the results of the functional tests. If any component fails to meet the specified criteria, it should be flagged for further action, such as rejection, return to the supplier, or further investigation.
