5. Logistics and Shipping

Once the purchase order is confirmed, the components are shipped from the supplier to the assembly location. The logistics step includes planning the shipment method, tracking the shipment, and ensuring it arrives on time and undamaged.

Shipping Considerations:

  • Shipping Terms: The shipment terms (e.g., DDP, FOB, Ex-Works) should be clearly defined in the PO. These terms dictate who is responsible for shipping costs, customs duties, and other fees.

  • International Shipping: If sourcing internationally, ensure compliance with customs regulations and proper documentation, such as invoices, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
